UPDATE:

A Bend man, possibly facing charges in the rape a fifteen year old boy, is out on conditional release.  Bend Police arrested 41 year old Matthew Young last week.  He allegedly met a boy at a makeshift camp in a wooded area in SE Bend and raped him. 

A grand jury held off on a formal indictment.  They'll be back in court next month.  Young is facing three counts of sodomy and sex abuse along with charges of assault and unlawful use of a weapon. 

While on release, he's not allowed to contact the victim.

Narrative:

This is an update to the report of a man sodomizing a 15 year old boy at a make shift camp in Bend.

On Monday June 22, the suspect, Matthew Young, agreed to meet with Detectives at the City of Bend Police Department. 

Young was taken into custody and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail for the listed charges. 

Charges: 

Three counts of Sodomy I

Unlawful use of a weapon

Assault IV

Three counts of Sex Abuse I

A reward is being offered for information on the location of a man wanted for rape.  Bend Police are investigating a sexual assault, where force was used, involving a 15 year old male victim.

The investigation revealed that the 15 year old male was at a make shift camp in a wooded area in southeast Bend.   While at this location the juvenile victim was coerced into engaging in sexual acts with an adult male.  

The adult male has been identified as 40-year old Matthew Norman Young.  Information is that Young may have been employed, in the past, as a wild land fire fighter.  An arrest warrant has been issued for Matthew Young pertaining to this case.

The victim did not sustain life threatening injuries and is currently home with his family.
