A campground at Crane Prairie Reservoir was evacuated over the weekend. Deschutes County Sheriff's Deputies and the U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcment were called to the Quinn River Campground on the reservoir. 60 year old Curtis Hubbell was reported to have a gun and had threatened and assaulted one person. The victim fled the campground and got assistance from a neighboring campsite before law enforcement arrived. Hubbell barricaded himself into a camper and refused to communicate with law enforcement for several hours. Surrounding campsites were evacuated and the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team was activated. Hubbell was eventually taken into custody without incident. He faces charges of menacing, unlawful use of a weapon and strangulation.
