EUGENE, Ore. -- The city of Eugene starts its leaf pick-up program Monday. City crews will be out at 7 a.m. making the rounds in West and Central Eugene.

Fall is here and with it comes lots of falling leaves. Property owners are urged not to place leaves in the street until the weekend before the scheduled pick-up in your area. Leaves need to be in a reasonable pile on the street, but not in bike lanes or near storm drains.

Eugene's Surface Maintenance Supervisor Damon Joyner said the city tackles lower elevation neighborhoods, such as Central and West Eugene because of past flooding in those areas.

Meanwhile, the city has also focused its efforts on making bicyclist safety a priority. Crews have already removed leaves from 25 miles of widely used bike lanes. More equipment has been purchased to sweep the bike lanes more frequently.

Nov. 2 - 11, West & Central Eugene
Nov. 9 - 30, North Eugene
Nov. 30 - Dec.18, Southeast Eugene
Dec. 14 - 24, Southwest Eugene
