WARRENTON, Ore. -- The city of Warrenton public works director has resigned after just over a year on the job.
Officials said Marc Howatt decided to leave for personal reasons, but will remain on the job until the end of the year to give the city time to search for his replacement.
The 39-year-old Howatt began his career in public works with the U.S. Air Force in a civil engineering squadron.
The Warrenton public works director is responsible for maintaining streets, parks, water and sewer systems. The salary is $60,292.
