Deschutes County Sheriff deputies scour the area with flashlights. A trained dog is used to search for a suspect. It's just minutes after an alleged armed robbery at the Shell gas station in La Pine on Thursday night. An employee says while he was taking out the trash, he was pushed to the ground by a man holding a gun, wearing a black ski mask who demanded the employee's wallet. The suspect is not found.

By Friday morning, news of the robbery spreads to surrounding businesses.

"It makes you pretty concerned, to happen so close. You never think it can happen to you. Just makes you more aware of people walking through the door," says Theresa Tenbusch.

She is the assistant manager at the Best Western hotel in La Pine, the front door, about thirty yards from the alleged robbery. At another gas station in La Pine, an employee says it's the community that makes her feel safe.

"There's so many people that know us around here, that I don't worry about it," said Anna Price, a manager at the 76 gas station in La Pine.

This is the third as yet, unsolved armed robbery in La Pine this year. The La Pine Liquor Store was robbed in May, the Quick Stop Market was robbed in June. Detectives say they collected evidence at the scene that's being evaluated by the crime lab. On Friday, they received numerous tips. The suspect described as a white male, late twenties to early thirties, five foot nine, weighing approximately two hundred pounds. He was last seen wearing a black colored hooded sweatshirt, stocking cap, dark colored pants and a ski mask. He's believed to be armed with a revolver. So far, no arrest.

Amazed that the police dept is believing this mans story

Wow This just amazes me.... Maxwell is at it again didn't take him long either I read this and had to laugh because I hope the police are not believing his story. This story has been used by him before
He one is either
1. trying to make himself a hero to cover up a crime he has committed, to take the focus off either a crime he has committed from this store or a different crime committed by him.
2. or a crime he is planning.

The police would be very smart to look at there so called victim as the perp This so called victim was released from prison in April 2009 and has broke his prole and probation a dozen times since and the police and his Po are doing nothing to stop it. If anyone knows anything speak up this man is trouble speak up before anyone of you are his next victim.

This is my private thoughts and feeling but they need to be heard, If any of you know The so called victim you will also know how full of crap this story is. He is sending the police of a goose chase for a man that does not exist when they could be solving a real crime and hello he described himself as the perp lol

White male adult (possibly in his late 20's or early 30's), 5'9" tall, approximately 200 pounds.

The so called victim is 32yrs 5'8 to 5'9 tall and a lil over 200 pounds

Just my thoughts but oh well they will catch him soon he cant get away with much more I guess or should I say I hope. This man is the best lier and con I have ever met I could see why the police would believe him.
