Happy new year! No it's not too late, it's happy Chinese New Year this weekend. To celebrate, Echo, a foundation founded by a special needs teacher at Bend High, held a celebration to raise money for building special needs schools in China. A cause they claim to be the only foundation seeking to accomplish. Robert Tadjiki, founder of Echo, adopted a special needs child from China. Traditional artwork, food and games, like picking up soap covered marbles with chopsticks, were part of the celebraton held at the Bend Boys and Girls Club.
"Well it's a real celebration of the coming year. So, what can you kind of look forward to in your life? What are some things you'd like to put behind you? And how can you look forward to a new vision, new year, renewing what your hopes and dreams are," said Echo Founder Robert Tadjiki.
The upcoming Chinese New Year is the year of the tiger.
