Bend Resident Running for US Senate

03/18/10 Bend

A Bend man has thrown his hat in the race for the US Senate. Fifteen year Bend resident Robin Parker announced Thursday he's running for State Senator Ron Wyden's seat at the capitol on the Republican ticket. He's a business analyst for a local software company. He has no experience in politics but thinks that's a good thing. "It means that I'm not really limited to the way things are supposed to be done, it allows me to bring new ideas and solutions to bare for the good of the American people," said Parker.

Parker says he wants to focus on re-building the senate, green jobs, and of course health care. He will be running against law professor Jim Huffman in the May 18th primary.
