With temperatures in the 90s the past couple of days, some Central Oregon residents are trying to make their home more energy efficient. Energy auditors use high-tech testing equipment and infrared cameras to show areas where air can escape the home and ducting. You can find incentives to get these services and more efficient appliances as well.
Megan Clark of Energy Trust of Oregon says, "There's a variety of incentives for energy trust. First of all we will actually incentivize just to get the test done which is the starting point to get the duct blaster test and the blower door test. You get $35 back from energy trust for each of those tests."
Also available is a free appliance pick up for recycling and a cash incentive as well. Energy Trust also pays 25 cents a square foot for attic insulation and 30 cents a square foot for floor insulation. Also available are wall, ducts, and heat pump incentives.
