Gubernatorial Candidate Chris Dudley Visits Bend

Republican candidate for governor Chris Dudley focused on education and job growth during a campaign stop in Bend.

"When you're 43rd in education, 44th in the funding of higher education, 47th in job growth, among the national leaders in homelessness - what we've been doing is not working.  And, we need to turn around that culture to get Oregon and Oregonians back to work, and we have to have an emphasis on job growth," Dudley said during Tuesday's roundtable discussion at the Riverhouse Convention Center.

In order to accomplish some of his goals, he says he plans to reduce capital gains taxes and offer more incentives for businesses.  Dudley faces former Governor John Kitzhaber this November.
