It's a Hops Harvest Celebration at Deschutes Brewery today.
As hops arrived this morning for the Brewery's annual seasonal beer Hop Trip.
A semi truck brought thousands of pounds of fresh crystal hops over from the Willamette Valley.
It's the brewery's one chance every year to make this seasonal beer.
The beer is said to have aromatic qualities unlike any other beer, because the hops come right off the vine and into the kettle.
"Our Brewmaster and one of our other Assistant Brewmasters went over last night to hang out with the farmer and to inspect the various hop fields. There are three fields of crystal hops over there, so they went over and evaluated each field and then chose the one that had the best aromatic qualities, and those are the ones we harvested today," says Assistant Brewmaster Paul Arney.
The seasonal beer started at 10 barrels made in the first year.
Now in its sixth year, 700 barrels will be made.
You will be able to buy the seasonal brew at the end of the month.
