Law enforcement officers are on the lookout for a man who eluded them in a stolen car Saturday night just before 11 o'clock. The chase started in the Fred Meyer parking lot. A Deschutes County Sheriff's Deputy attempted to stop a white Dodge Neon after it was discovered the car was stolen. The lone driver in the car fled from the initiated traffic stop heading north on 3rd Street in Bend. He failed to stop at a number of red lights and was clocked reaching speeds in excess of 80 miles per hour. The driver then abandoned the car near the intersection of Silvis St. and Wye St. fleeing the area on foot. A canine team responded but the man's trail went cold. This investigation is still in progress.
