You Ask. We Answer.

In this ‘You Ask; We Answer' Mike asks, " Why is the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council's 'Riverfest', a week of activities promoting watershed stewardship, not occurring this year?"

After feedback, the Watershed Council has consolidated activities into two single-day events this year.   A ‘Student Speak Watershed Summit' happened earlier this May.   The second event, ‘Stream Stewardship Day' is on June Sixth at McKay Park.  It will connect the public to the rivers with twelve different sites for people to work on.

"Many of them were really fun and engaging events, but they weren't quite as hands on as we wanted them to be," says Kolleen Yake, the Watershed Council Regional Education Coordinator.

The twelve sites will focus on Tumalo Creek, Whychus Creek and the Deschutes River.
