You Ask. We Answer.

In this ‘You ask, we answer,' Mike asks, "Why is the vegetation so tall on the parkway in Bend ? The city wants to protect us from fire hazards and with all the fools that throw burning cigarettes out on the road I would think it would be more important to remove the weeds. Or is that an ODOT thing?"

Odot has an agreement with the City of Bend to maintain the vegetation along the parkway.  There is a four step plan in place to combat the noxious weeds, trash and improve the overall look of the area.

"...the problem came about three years ago, you know, the city has typically done all the vegetation in conjunction with odot but due to lack of funding and man power it's become an issue these last couple years.. Neither party had the resources to address it," says kevin ramsey, the city of bend street supervisor.
