Direct Connect: "Emote360" and "World Relief Next"

08/12/09 Bend

On Direct Connect tonight, we're joined by two guests; Benjamin Edwards from "Emote360" and Matt Smith for "World Relief Next." They're here to talk about the violence which is happening in the Congo.

"Emote 360" has a video about 1:20 long that is looking at the plight and violence happening in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Slavery is happening there because of "conflict minerals" or rocks and stones that have a high price, and people are creating violence to get them.

"Emote 360" is also working with "WorldRelief Next" on the video project. Emote 360 is a local organization, trying to raise awareness about what's happening. Trying to help out over there. This video was selected for a finalist in an awards ceremony, called "The Enough Project."
