You Ask. We Answer.

In this ‘You Ask; We Answer,' Mike asks, " With all of the vehicles I have seen running red lights in the last 5 - 6 years ( I have lived here over 27 years and it has gotten worse every year), why hasn't the city of Bend and Redmond installed cameras at the lights, I'm sure they would pay for them in no time.  It works very well in Portland."

ODOT is in charge of Bend and Redmond traffic lights.  Red light cameras cost about $50,000 each.  A cut of the money made from tickets would go to the company that makes the camera.  ODOT doesn't want that kind of partnership.  Instead it's focused on working to coordinate the signals which has also been a safety concern.
