In this ‘You Ask; We Answer' Jon asks, "Why won't the traffic division put in a stop sign at the intersection of Bond St. and Columbia? When you are trying to turn left from Columbia onto Bond St. it is nearly impossible to make that turn safely with the numerous cars traveling on Bond St. from Reed Market Circle. During events at the Old Mill, sometimes there is a temporary stop sign placed in this intersection which is very helpful."
"Because of the relative close distance of the roundabout at Reed Market, it's quite likely that traffic cues from a stop sign at Columbia might backup into and through the roundabout at Reed Market, so that would definitely be a concern," says Julia Wellner, Transportation Engineer with the City of Bend.
Bend Public Works has no current plans to put a stop sign at that intersection.
