It's hard to believe this Saturday is Halloween. It seems like just yesterday I was saying to myself it was way too early for Halloween candy and decorations at the grocery store. I hate when candy is out months in advance because it's always so tempting to slip a bag of goodies into the shopping cart.
I haven't fully stocked up on candy quite yet, but I did get into the Halloween spirit this past weekend. I decided it was time to carve pumpkins that would welcome in all those "tricker treaters".
This year my pumpkin is more friendly than spooky. I will admit my carving abilities aren't top notch. A few years ago we had a professional pumpkin carver on "Daybreak", and I was trying to remember any tricks of the trade I might have learned from that segment. Well as you see my pumpkin (the one of the right) isn't anything too special--but it's all about getting into the Halloween spirit.
My favorite costume as a kid was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. I even had a little dog in a basket to take around with me. I look forward to all the creative costumes this year from the candy craving neighborhood kids. Happy Halloween!!
