Swine Flu Hotline

10/29/09 Bend

Cascade Healthcare Community recently created a flu information line for community members to call. The number is 541-706-7711. The information line is not intended to provide medical advice, counsel or suggested care, but rather information about the seasonal and H1N1 flu viruses.

The information line covers general flu and H1N1 symptoms, who is at high risk for complications from H1N1, flu prevention, tests for influenza, appropriate anti-viral use, live H1N1 vaccine vs. killed vaccine and CDC prioritization for the H1N1 vaccine. It will be updated if and when information changes.

If people are seeking medical advice regarding the seasonal or H1N1 flu, they are encouraged to call their doctor or a medical professional. For more information about seasonal and the H1N1 flu virus in the region, visit www.cascadehealthcare.org/h1n1 or www.deschutes.org/H1N1.
