Motor Home Fire

10/31/2009 - Bend

A fire consumes a motor home, spreading to surrounding trees in a Bend neighborhood. Burt Ershig says just after one o'clock early Saturday morning, he heard a popping noise and looked outside to see a bright orange glow. Thinking his neighbors house was on fire, he called for help, eventually realizing it was his motor home. The fire spread to surrounding trees in the Deschutes River Woods neighborhood. The Bend Fire Department was able to get the fire quickly under control. A problem in the engine compartment is the suspected cause.
