Haunted Places

10/31/07 Bend  We're starting our tour of haunted places here at the Reid School where contractor George Brosterhouse fell from the roof three flights down to his death.   For employees of the Deschutes Historical Museum, George is a good ghost.

"When he was finishing and leaving he saw the picture of George on the wall and said that was who was in the library that was who watched me play," says one employee.

George also helps them find things.

Another haunted place is at the Sunriver Resort where they say a soldier was accidentaly killed and still roams the halls.  The Great Hall sits on an old military training facility where a soldier was accidentally killed.  Over the years, he's reportedly been seen four times in the crow's nest.

A third reported haunted building is the Lara House in the Drake Park Historic District and it's at this bed and breakfast that many guests felt a presence.  A woman is rumored to roam the house.  Her favorite place is the stairwell.
