There's a reward and search for witnesses in the case of a hit and run that injured a bicyclist. Authorities say a 24 year old man was riding his bike northbound on NW Way near NW Coyner in Redmond on Wednesday, August 20th when a vehicle hit him, knocking him off his bike.
The driver, who was in a two tone light and dark green Honda Element, stopped briefly, but then left the scene. The bicyclist had to wave down a passing car to get a ride to the hospital. He is recovering from his injuries.
"Bicyclists sometimes become involved in serious accidents with vehicles. There's nothing out of the ordinary in this case other than we trying to determine who the driver of that vehicle was and why they did not stop. It is a crime not stop. It's a hit and run," says Lt. Kevin Dizney of the Detective Division of the Deschutes County Sheriff's Department.
Investigators are hoping neighbors, witnesses or perhaps someone at an auto body shop may remember this green Honda Element, possibly with damage.
Here is an example of what a Honda Element looks like:

The hit and run happened last month, August 20th at 12:30 in the afternoon.
