Drug Arrests

12/01/08 Redmond

Authorities arrest two Redmond residents for allegedly dealing drugs in a grocery store parking lot.

During an extended investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine in the Central Oregon area, detectives from the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team (CODE) developed information that 36 year old Tammy Lee Gallaher was delivering a substantial amount of methamphetamine to the parking lot at Albertson's Supermarket in Redmond. Detectives set up surveillance and arrested Gallaher when she arrived to deliver the meth. At the time of her arrest Gallaher had in her possession 28 grams of methamphetamine and approximately $1800 in cash.

As the investigation continued, Detectives applied for, and was granted, search warrant of Gallaher's residence on  SW Umatilla Ave. in Redmond where she currently resides with 30 year old Nicholas E. Hochstatter. CODE detectives executed the warrant shortly after 10pm with the assistance of members of the Redmond Police Department , the Bend Police Department, The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Drug Detection K-9 Narc, and the Oregon State Police.

During the execution of the warrant at the residence, Hochstatter was taken into custody without incident. Detectives working into the wee hours of Thanksgiving morning, seized 225 grams of methamphetamine, approx. $1900 in cash, scales for weighing the drug, and packaging material, along with other evidence that would indicate this is a long term operation and has been doing business for some time.

Between the arrest of Gallaher and the warrant on the residence, detectives seized approx. 9 ounces of methamphetamine. This carries a street value of $15,000 -$20,000.
