CORVALLIS, Ore. -- It's just the latest injury for the Beavs bruised backup. Lyle Moevao suffered a foot injury, and it appears to have ended his senior season.

Moevao likely tore ligaments in his right foot when a defensive lineman fell on him during a drill on Tuesday. He will have surgery on Friday.

Lyle Moevao injured his throwing shoulder last November against Arizona State. OSU's current starter Sean Canfield replaced him in that game and hasn't looked back since. Following last season, Moevao had surgery on the shoulder causing him to miss all of spring ball and lose the quarterback competition to Canfield. This new injury to his foot may very well end his career.

Moevao is in his fifth year of eligibility after redshirting as a freshman. He can apply for a medical redshirt, but the NCAA very rarely grants a sixth year of eligibility, even for medical purposes.
